Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad has launched a new portal
with Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Monday. On this portal, people
of Delhi-NCR will be able to register a direct complaint in case of
mobile theft or lost. Also people can block the number by visiting the
government website.
5.36 crore mobile users benefit
After this, mobile will not work in any telecom circle in the country
and on the network of any telecom company. This move of the government
will curb the incidents of mobile piracy on a large scale. 5.36 crore
mobile users will benefit from this government service. For your

During the launch, Ravi Shankar Prasad has said that now users of Delhi
and NCR can lodge a complaint by visiting the https://www.ceir.gov.in
site if mobile is lost or stolen. However, people will also have to
lodge a police complaint. Telecom Secretary Anshu Prakash told that if
the stolen mobile is being used in any corner of the country, then its
location will be known and it can be tracked. Through which police can
easily access that mobile. This will significantly reduce the incidence
of mobile theft.
Theft incidents will be controlled
The Telecom Secretary has said that if the stolen mobile is being used
in any corner of the country, then the site will give information about
its location. At the same time, the police will also reach the thieves
easily. According to the report, around 40,000 phones have been stolen
or lost in Delhi.
How to use this service
If your phone is lost or stolen, first of all you have to register an
FIR. After this, you will have to go to the site
https://www.ceir.gov.in and upload a copy of the Police Complaint along
with the identity card. After this DOT will block your number and
IMEI. At the same time, this will not misuse your number. Mumbai was
first included in the Central Equipment Identity Register, where 309
complaints have been filed so far and 142 mobile phones have been traced
out of it.
